Wireless Hotspots Alright, it's time to get serious about a Nashville community networking effort. We've seen many national sites that have attempted to pull together a comprehensive directory of WIFI (802.11b or g) hotspots but it seems that every one of them has only 5 listings for Nashville with only one or two sites. If you own a WIFI device at your home, coffeshop, bar, restaurant or any location for that matter and are willing to allow roaming users to have access for convenience, please list your site here. At a minimum, your setup must include: A WIFI (802.11b/g) compatible device. Check out the Linksys Wireless-G SRX router. This is the one to get! An SSID that you broadcast (preferably set the SSID to YOUR_NAME@BUTLER.NET). No encryption. A DHCP server to send an IP address to roaming users (usually this is built into the Linksys device).
